The Princes Czartoryski Museum is one of the branches of the National Museum in Krakow. The idea of founding the Museum was to preserve the Polish history for future generations. Motivated by the mottto “Past for the Future”. It was established as a result of the activities of Princess Isabella Czartoryski. As part of the museum we can find paintings, handicrafts and literature of famous Poles.

The exhibits, which are located in the museum date back even from 3 to 4 thousand years BC, they are extremely varied, both because of used materials and production techniques. Collections of the Princes Czartoryski Museum is not only a work of art, but also ordinary everyday objects. As part of the museum’s collection we can find numerous paintings from the period of the thirteenth to the eighteenth century - mainly European painting and Islamic.

In 2010 a major overhaul of the Museum had begun and is to be completed in 2017.
